Skin Care At Different Ages
Your skin changes with age. It becomes thinner, loses fat, and no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did. Your veins and bones can be seen more easily. Scratches, cuts, or bumps can take longer to heal. Years of sun tanning or being out in the sunlight for a long time can lead to wrinkles, dryness, age spots, and even cancer. But there are things you can do to help your skin. Skin changes as we age. People in their twenties, thirties, forties and on need different products and different skin care regimens.

Skin care for women can be overwhelming today because there are many products promising results with ingredients you can't pronounce, let alone know what they do. Pomerantz says many products are age-geared, so you need to consider what your skin needs are for your particular age group.

Teenage Skin Care:

Most young women are guilty of not doing this in their teenage years, but sleeping in makeup is just not good. Especially, if you put up with an oily complexion. Congestion can build up in your pores and cause breakouts. Using too many drying products is also likely to cause disappointing results. When the skin is oily, most teenagers tend to buy face wash, moisturisers and spot treatments that promise to remove oiliness. At first, you may see some results, but in the long run, the oil glands will begin to over accommodate for the lack of oil by producing even more oil than in the first place! Everything starts with good intentions, initially teenagers say they love drying skincare regimens. But after a while, they suddenly cease to be effective. Any creams with SD Alcohol are unquestionably part of the 'drying out' category.

20s and 30s Skin Care:

Water, water everywhere. Beginning in your late 20s, the skin can begin to lose hydration. Make sure to drink enough water, and begin to  routinely apply good moisturizer that will absorb into your skin thoroughly. If your skin is particularly dry, go for a more luxurious moisturizer, especially during the winter months, such as Relastin Ultra Emollient. If your skin is oily stick with a light moisturizer like Relastin Skin Revitalizer. It also doesn't hurt that Relastin will help you replace the elastin you've been losing since your teens, before the effects start to show.

40s and 50s and beyond:

There are two ways you can combat the signs of aging during these decades. If you're seeing uneven skin tone, age spots, or discolorations, think about exfoliating once or twice a week. A light alpha hydroxy cream or a gentle scrub might help to get rid of surface discolorations. If these options don't work, consider asking your dermatologist about stronger exfoliants, such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion.

Wrinkles are trickier. They are caused, in part, by reduced elastin in the middle, or dermal, layer of your skin. Relastin products can help to increase the elastin in your skin, which will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help your skin spring back.
