Entry: Eyelashes Care Jul 28, 2009

When we think of our beauty and health routines, our eyelashes are sometimes not at the top of the list. They're just little things, we think. Shouldn't I worry more about my brows or dark circles under my eyes? But a thick, strong eyelash can really help enhance the appearance not only of your eye - and it really does! - but also your whole face. Open, bright eyes create a look of alertness, of vitality that is a great boost to both your appearance and your self-confidence. Eyelashes care can be easily incorporate into your normal routine and will provide great results.

If you want beautiful eyelashes, care for your whole face and especially the eyes. Adding foods high in vitamins A, B, and C will help promote the health of your eyes and can easily be added to your diet. Good sources are fresh fruits and vegetables, which also provide great benefits for your body and overall health. Another vital step: cleanse the eyelids daily with a gentle cleanser. You can also apply witch hazel, weak tea, or rose water to your eyelids with cotton pads. Press gently and allow the pads to remain in place for about ten minutes. Not only is this soothing, it creates a healthy environment for eyelashes grow.

Don't neglect your eyelashes when you are doing your makeup or cleansing. You can use a small brush to comb your eyelashes and apply topical treatments to promote hair growth and strength. Using olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, or vitamin E oil topically can also enhance growth. If you have trouble growing eyelashes, there are prescription products, like Latisse, or OTC products, like RevitaLash or LavishLash, that are available. These are topical treatments that are easy to apply and will help you get longer, fuller lashes in as little as four weeks. If your eyelashes are very sparse, you can try extensions or false eyelashes to provide a fuller look while you regrow your natural lashes.

When some hair is left on the brush after brushing, we see it as normal; and in case of heavy hair lost there are many ways to strengthen it. But when eyelashes come out many women are lost, they try to use less eye makeup, but do not strengthen their eyelashes.

Brush the Eyelashes

Eyelashes demand attention and care in order to be silky and well-groomed, they have to be brushed every morning and every night with a special brush (mascara brush can be used as well) oiled with warm castor or olive oil, in this way the growth of eyelashes is improved, and they become stronger and softer. Burdock and rose oils also have a universal softening effect on eyelashes and eyelids. When the procedure is done systematically the growth of eyelashes intensifies and they become silky.

Herbal Compresses for Fluffy Eyelashes

To make your eyelashes especially fluffy you can try an old reliable recipe – eye lotion. Make a decoction with the flowers of calendula and cornflower. Pour three tea spoons of each plant with boiling water. Leave the mix for three days, and then it is ready to begin applying 15-20 minute compresses. The decoction should be of homeroom temperature. Using only cornflower decoction is also helpful.

Care for Eyebrows and Eyelashes:

•    Eyebrows and Eyelashes should be brushed daily with a small brush.

•    Rub eyebrows and eyelashes with olive oil or coconut oil or almond oil to encourage hair growth.

•    For cleansing and nourishment of eyebrows, rub them with a little egg white and rinse it off after 10 minutes.
